The New Jersey Shore is one of the most exciting and beautiful areas in the country. All of the beaches are clean and well maintained. There is a vast array of things to see and do. Each town has its own uniqueness. The entire New Jersey Shore area starts in the south in Cape May and extends all the way north to Sandy Hook National Park. On a good day(light traffic), one could drive the entire distance of the New Jersey shore in 2-3 hours.
Each New Jersey Shore town is unique in it's own way. When choosing the town in which to plan your vacation, there are many things to consider. Are you looking for night life? Do you like shopping? Do you plan to play golf, tennis, or any other sports? Do you want to participate in aquatic activities such as fishing, boating, or crabbing. All of these things are available at the New Jersey Shore plus many other things that are not mentioned. No where else in the country will you find such a wide variety of things to do.
Most of your high speed traveling along the shore line can be done via the Garden State Parkway or route 9. Both of these roads parallel the shore line and are great choices for traveling from town to town. In many instances you can drive from town to town without coming inland and using the major highways. For example, you can drive from Cape May all the way up to Brigantine without using the highways. If the distance between the two towns you are driving is more than 20 miles, you may want to consider using the highways. If it is less than 20 miles, driving through towns may be a nice ride.

Most of the New Jersey Shore Beach towns require beach tags to be worn at the beach. Atlantic City and Wildwood beaches are free. Every town has it's own specific prices and regulations. Generally the prices range from about $15 to $25 per season, $7 to $15 for a weekly tag, and about $4 to $6 for daily tags. Most towns allow children under 12 to be at the beach for free. Since this information is constantly changing, we recommend visiting the town's website before visiting. This way you will have the most accurate and up to date information. At the end of this page, we will provide links to the websites where this information can be found.
