The Ocean County shore line is one of the most geographically unique. About half of the shore line is Long Beach Island which is a very narrow and long barrier island. The remaining half is a long and narrow peninsula. Seaside Heights which has a vibrant night life is centrally located on the peninsula with Seaside Park to the south and extends north to Point Pleasant Beach. Long Beach Island is more known as a surfer's paradise and is one of the New Jersey Shore's hottest surf destinations. There are many small towns that make up Long Beach Island each with it's own unique charm.
